Prevent Dengue Fever Through 3M Education + Applying Spray: Enesis Group and Malang City Government Officially Launch the “Mosquito-Free, Healthy Family & Dengue-Free” Program

Malang, August 5, 2025 – Enesis Group, through its flagship local brand Soffell, in collaboration with the Malang City Government, the Health Office, and the East Java Provincial Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), officially launched the CSR program “Joint Mosquito Eradication Movement 3M+ Mengoles: Healthy and Dengue-Free Families.” The event was held at the Ballroom of the Harris & Convention Hotel in Malang and was attended by hundreds of participants from government, health, and community leaders.

This program marks a shared commitment to educating and empowering the community in preventing Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), particularly in Sukun and Blimbing Districts, the two districts with the highest number of DHF cases in Malang City.

Strategic Interventions in Highest-Risk Areas

In his remarks, the Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, M.M., emphasized the importance of cross-sector synergy in addressing the persistently high threat of DHF in his region.

“The Malang City Government expresses its appreciation to the Enesis Group for its CSR contribution to two sub-districts in 22 urban villages, demonstrating its commitment to helping control Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Malang City. As of May 2025, there had been 459 cases and 4 deaths. This figure demonstrates the urgency of treatment, considering that in 2024, there were 727 cases with the same number of deaths. My presence at this event is both an expression of gratitude and an affirmation that prevention through education and collaboration is more important than treatment. I also hope this program will provide significant benefits, raising public awareness, especially among mothers, of the dangers of DHF, and will be a step that brings blessings to all parties involved,” he explained.

Data from the Ministry of Health as of July 2025 shows that East Java Province has the second-highest number of DHF cases in Indonesia (13,836 cases), and Malang is one of the priority cities for intervention. This is what motivated the Enesis Group to choose Malang City as the next point for its public education program on DHF prevention.

From Product to Movement: Enesis Group’s Social Commitment

Aryo Widiwardhono, CEO of Enesis Group, explained that Enesis Group’s presence is not only as a manufacturer, but also as an agent of social change.

“We don’t just present products, but also with a mission. Enesis Group was founded on the value that business should help people out of hardship. Soffell, as a mosquito repellent, is just one tool, but education and behavior change are the goals. This isn’t about business, it’s about humanity,” said Aryo.

Through this program, Enesis Group empowers 220 mosquito repellent (Jumantik) cadres from 22 sub-districts to conduct door-to-door education sessions with more than 47,520 residents. The education focuses on the 3M+ Movement: Draining, Covering, Recycling, and Plus: applying Soffell mosquito repellent to prevent mosquito bites that carry dengue, chikungunya, filariasis, and malaria.

Women’s Voices, Families’ Voices

The Chairperson of the East Java Provincial Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), Mrs. Arumi Bachsin, also attended the event and expressed her deep appreciation for the program’s family-centric approach.

“The Chairperson of the East Java Province Family Welfare Movement (PKK) emphasized that this activity is not merely a ceremony, but a concrete collaborative effort between the government, business community, and the community to combat the threat of Dengue Fever (DHF), with the crucial role of families as the first line of defense and Jumantik (mosquito net mosquito repellent) cadres as the spearhead in the field. I commend the Enesis Group for selecting Malang City as one of six priority cities in its CSR program “Mosquito Eradication Movement with 3M Plus Mengoles, Healthy and Dengue-Free Families,” which targets more than 47,000 residents through education, training, and direct surveys. This program is considered serious because it is accompanied by monitoring and evaluation, including a demonstration of the effectiveness of mosquito repellent lotion using mosquitoes from Enesis Group’s sterile farms as part of quality control. With the spirit of mutual cooperation and the involvement of all parties, he hopes this program will be the beginning of a major change towards a healthier, dengue-free Malang City,” said Arumi.

Measurable Commitment: Not Just a Ceremony

RM Ardiantara, Head of HR & Public Relations at Enesis Group, added that the success of this program is determined by commitment on the ground, not just the opening ceremony.

“This program is designed to have an impact. We will conduct post-intervention monitoring to measure effectiveness. In other areas, this approach has increased the Larvae-Free Rate from 95% to 99% and reduced the number of houses with positive larvae by 80%. We are confident that Malang can achieve similar results,” said Ardiantara.

The program will run for 30 days, from August 11 to early September 2025. All cadres will be provided with educational materials, Soffell product samples, and reporting tools to monitor changes in resident behavior.

With the commitment of Enesis Group, the full support of the Malang City Government, and the active participation of the community, it is hoped that this movement will not only reduce dengue fever rates but also foster a new culture: one of healthy living and environmental stewardship.

The Soffell program has previously been implemented in various regions, including Jember, Banyuwangi, Bali, Yogyakarta, and Bandung, and will continue to expand to other areas in need. Malang is a key point in the Enesis Group’s community-based dengue education campaign roadmap.
