Tips To Avoid From Deadly Mosquitoes

We often ignore the presence of mosquitoes in our homes. In fact, some types of mosquitoes are very dangerous, because they can transmit deadly diseases such as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD), malaria, zika, or japanese enchepalitis. As reported by Republika.com, there are approximately 3500 species of mosquitoes in the world, but not all of them are harmful to humans.

In general there are 3 types of deadly mosquitoes in the world, namely Aedes Aegypty, Aedes Albopictus, and Anopheles mosquito. Let's go through each type of mosquito.

1. Anopheles mosquitoes.

Anopheles mosquitoes are mosquitoes that can transmit malaria. Mosquitoes that breed in the water can be easily found in swamps, water, and waterways. These mosquitoes usually bite humans at night. The Anopheles that cause malaria are Anopheles Sundaicus, Anopheles Maculatus, and Anopheles balabacensis. In addition to malaria, Anopheles mosquitoes can also cause filariasis.


2. Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes.

This mosquito feature is easily recognizable, because of its body black-and-white spots. This type of mosquito likes to be around clothes that are left hanging, dark place like under the bed, and water reservoir for example bathtub, flower vase, place to drink pets, and others. Aedes Aegypti mosquito usually bite at 08.00 - 12.00 WIB and at 15.00 - 17.00 WIB. Therefore, it is advisable to pay more attention to the prevention of mosquito bites in those hours.


3. Culex mosquitoes.

Culex mosquitoes are usually active at night and have various colors and motifs, such as black or brown. The unique feature of this type of mosquito is, when the mosquito is landing, its body position is not dipped, but on a flat position. Culex can be found in a dirty water such as sewer, septic tank, although it is possible they can be found in clear water.


How to Prevent Deadly Mosquito Bites

After knowing about the types of mosquitoes, now we know how to prevent themselves from mosquito bites, namely by implementing 3M Plus, like drain and clean water reservoirs and routinely change the drinking water of birds or other pets, and re-use of goods unused.
